LAKE
BACCARAC:
Lake Baccarac is nearly 80%
full with two months left of potential rain. That is the highest
water level in about 10 years. The lake has had little pressure
in the past four years and is coming on strong. Fishing at Baccarac
is as good right now as it has ever been. We tried to keep it
quiet until we opened our new hotel overlooking the lake but
reports of 100 fish per day have gotten out; with many fish
over 10 pounds all the way up to 16 pounds. It is red hot for
all sizes of fish.
LAKE EL SALTO:
Lake El Salto is 100% full and
fishing is great for all sizes; all the way up to 14 pounds.
A lot of work has been done toward an agreement with the commercial
fishermen. Four million Tilapia have been put into the lake
and with that many fish, it only takes 3 days for the netters
to catch their limit and then the nets are taken out for 5 days.
We predict this will be a banner fishing year.
