About
Us
Dear Valued Customer,
Some of you
have known Lana and Fred Ward for about 12 years; we started
our business of booking fishing trips to Lake
Baccarac in 1992. We feel we have always maintained the highest
level of integrity in providing quality trips to Lake
Baccarac, and then to El Salto
where we went into business for ourselves in 2001. At El
Salto, we put together one of the finest operations Mexico
has ever seen; the very first docks, the finest quality boats
with depth finders and 24 volt trolling motors, and American
teaching pros. We have found our partner at El
Salto Lake. Jose Rodriguez, to be an absolute champion of
good lodging, good food and good hospitality.
NEW TEAM!
At this time we are announcing a new team; this team will consist
of Fred and Lana Ward of Phoenix, Arizona, Jose Rodriguez of
La Cruz, Sinaloa, Mexico, and Felipe Valdez of Bacaburito, Sinaloa,
Mexico. The name of our company from now on will be Pro Bass
Adventures. This team was formed to take on the added responsibilities
of providing guiding services on other lakes in Mexico.
BIG NEWS!
This brings us to our second announcement, and one we know you
will be very happy about: We have secured a piece of land overlooking
Lake Baccarac!!!! The new team
will build a twelve unit lodge on this land and open our guide
service at Lake Baccarac December
15, 2004. This will be the first time there has ever been a
lodge overlooking Lake Baccarac.
We know you are going to want to know how the fishing is...well,
we will say this, since we left Lake
Baccarac in 2000, the lake has had little or no fishing
pressure. This has allowed the population of bass to explode,
both in small fish and giant fish. The rains this summer have
brought the lake level to near full and there is still rain
to come.
Now the question that will come to your mind will be "Fred
and Lana, which is the best lake?" The fact is that El
Salto remains as a viable lake full of giant bass, great
facilities, and a great program. The lake level stands at 100%
as of this writing and the fishing is great. The best news is
that the commercial fishermen are cooperating with the sport
fishermen and that has helped the fishing a great deal. Fishing
at both lakes will be the best you have ever seen.
We are only going to take 300 reservations to Lake
Baccarac this first year to get our feet wet. Some of you
will surely want to return to El
Salto but many will prefer Baccarac
to be involved in some of the best fishing Mexico has ever seen.
300 spaces will book very fast and December could see us full
up. Please call us soon. The prices will be the same as those
at El Salto and there will again
be no hidden charges. We will have Ranger Bass Boats at Baccarac
and other boats that, as of the date of this writing, have not
been purchased yet. We will offer the same great service, fantastic
food, best boats in Mexico, and best guides on the two best
lakes in the world. We have been able to make an arrangement
with the commercial fishermen at Baccarac
and Felipe assures us they will cooperate.
Lake Baccarac is going to be
a little harder to get to due to the airline schedules, but
the fishing will be beyond your expectations. Los Mochis or
Culiacan are the cities you will fly into for Lake
Baccarac fishing. Please call Mike at Anglers and Hunters
Travel for assistance in planning your flight.
Just a note for those of you that have been thinking of Lake
Huites or Lake Agua Milpa; this past year at Huites has not
been good. Most of the outfitters have closed their places as
the fishing was the worst it has ever been at that lake. Agua
Milpa has not faired much better as the word has gotten around
that the fishing has fallen off. Lake
El Salto and Lake Baccarac
will be your best bets for the best fishing of your life.
We have found out that maintaining fishing rods & reels
at the Mexican lakes was more complicated than we had imagined.
We will have equipment at both lakes and you can request it
at $50 per person per trip. We can also provide tackle for an
additional $50 per person. We thank you for your understanding.
We look forward to talking with all of you to plan your next
fishing trip to El Salto and
Baccarac.
Very truly yours,
Fred & Lana Ward
